Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design
was established on 1st June 1996 to offer programmes geared towards integrating Islamic
values and tawhidic educational approach in the built environment profession.
Vision
To be a Centre of Excellence for the Built Environment that promotes integration and Islamisation of knowledge for the benefit of the
Ummah .
Mission
KAED is committed to serve the Ummah by producing ethical, competent and versatile graduates by applying the Tawhidic approach - through the provision
of breakthrough leadership, conducive working, learning and research environment by utilising the states of the art technology.

List of Facilities
• KAED, in its initial days of September 1996, was located in IIUM Matriculation Campus, Petaling Jaya.
• It shares its facilities with the Architecture and
Environmental Design Department of IIUM Matriculation Centre.
• The facilities then were two (2) customised studios and shared classes as well as lecture rooms with other
programmes.
• KAED then moved, in late December 1998, into the Kulliyyah of Education Building, IIUM main campus in Gombak.
• KAED occupies the spaces as a temporary occupation from December 1998 until mid 2001.
• KAED moved to its very own building in June 2001.
